Can you study abroad twice?

Hi Lucy,

You absolutely can -- in fact, I know quite a few people who have! The logistics of this will depend on the requirements of your home university and major (for example, it's harder for biochem majors to find a whole year's worth of classes abroad that will count for their course requirements than it might be for an international studies major), but it's definitely doable if you plan ahead and get all your paperwork done on time.

The most common way to do this is to take a whole year to study abroad, and split it into two semesters (or one semester and a summer term), each in one location. This does mean you'll need to fill out applications, apply for visas and any other requirements twice, since you'll be participating in two different programs, so give yourself enough time to do all of this.

If you're really set on studying abroad in two different locations, start researching programs and go talk to your study abroad office as soon as possible, so you can start figuring out what you need to do to make it happen.
